CAS Registry Number: 882435-29-2 PET-MTM resin has mechanical properties that are not different than those of the virgin material. Some of the PET-MTM mechanical properties are even better for bottle and package production (as compared to virgin PET).
Production costs of PET-M resin are the lowest among all known food-contact grade recycling processes.
PET-MTM can be used in any and all applications that currently use virgin PET. PET-MTM is especially economically effective in food-contact bottles and packaging.
PET-MTM can also be used in fibre and sheet production without any limitations. Due to its high elasticity and firmness, PET-MTM can be used in a wide range of other extrusion or thermo-formed applications.
Recyclables tests performed according to the "PETCORE Protocol" indicate that bottles and other items made of PET-MTM do not require any special designation and can be safely used in conventional PET recycling streams.
